Dreaming the Greater Consciousness

Beyond the human collective consciousness, there is a greater awareness that presents itself in certain dreaming circumstances.
These dreams involve learning something or doing something in dreaming that changes ordinary reality. They are usually altruistic in nature. They call the dreamer to assist others. They come from the Higher Self or the Soul Self, which sees the interconnectedness of all universes and dimensions.

In this type of dream you learn some new aspect of your Earth Walk. The soul speaks to you about what you are here to be and what you are here to become. These dreams are different in character and texture from psychological dreams, however. They result in a change in your vibrational understanding of yourself and your powers to heal. Creative dreams, dreams that inspire you to make a piece of art or do something artistic, belong to this category. "Medicine" dreams, dreams in which you're learn something about your unique alignment with Great Creator, are also teaching dreams.

Teaching dreams often prove to be highly catalytic for dreamers. They contain information that does not actually originate in the dreamer's being, therefore they indicate to the dreamer that she has been on a different plane of consciousness. They literally change the vibration of the work that the dreamer does in waking reality. Fritjof Capra in his book The Web of Life tells us that many famous physicists, specifically John von Neumann and Norbert Wiener, had the habit of sleeping with pencil and paper near their beds because Teaching Dreams were common experiences for them. We might all do well to follow their example.

These are dreams in which the dreamer helps someone else move toward wholeness. In some cases, you may actually heal the patient within a dream. In others, a healer will come to heal you. If the latter happens it's usually because by being healed yourself, you will either learn a technique or carry a new energy that will help others. Healing dreams are always altruistic in nature.

Healing dreams, like teaching dreams, change the reality of the dreamer and the patient. If you dream that you heal someone, and that someone literally wakes up feeling better the next day, it's very hard to doubt yourself as a powerful dreamer. Similarly, if you dream that you are "doctored" and you wake up feeling better, with an instruction about how to pass that healing on, it's very difficult to see yourself as the same old person you were yesterday. Healing dreams change you!

However, don't expect validation all the time. You may heal someone you don't even know in the dreamtime -- and you may never know what you've done. Don't worry about it. Just do your work and let go of your need to be recognized.

"Oracle" is a Greek word referring to the revealing of hidden information. The oracle is a Divine Utterance. Oracular information has to do with guidance for the dreamer. It is wisdom from the divine realm being transferred directly: not through visual symbol but through the vibration of the word. The oracle often comes in riddle or ambiguous terminology. It's a puzzle. In oracular dreams one can be given a name or a chant. It's a time when Great Dreamer is speaking directly to you as a dreaming woman and it's up to you and your circle to learn to understand it.

Oracular dreams come in many shapes and forms, but their outstanding hallmark is that they pass to the dreamer information that he or she would not have reached otherwise!
